After Check-In: Delray Beach, Florida

There are plenty of ways to build your afternoon and evening after check-in at Delray Sands Resort on Highland Beach into some of the most memorable moments of your entire vacation.

Cue the Jimmy Buffett

There’s no better place to get your Delray Beach vacation mind-set started than at happy hour (4 to 7 p.m.) at Boston’s Sand Bar at Delray Sands Resort. Sit under a cabana steps from the water with Premium Herradura Tequila Margaritas and pitchers of tropical Bacardi rum punches. Every night is a different draft or mixed drink special.

Face Time

Unwinding from a long flight or drive can be done at the nearby nSpa. A 20-minute Organic Salt Scrub both preps your skin for tomorrow’s beach time and leaves you feeling refreshed for a night out.

Art Hop

You’ll be glad Delray Sands Resort is a 10-minute drive from Artists Alley, where local artists have set up shop in formerly abandoned warehouses on East Atlantic Avenue along the Pineapple Grove District. The best way to tour the area’s galleries is during the First Friday Art Walk (doors stay open until 9 p.m.), but don’t let that deter you from stopping by any other evening to see handmade ceramics, contemporary art, and impressionist paintings.

Sounds Good

While you’re in the Pineapple Grove District, Arts Garage is another cultural hotbed. It’s where theater, live music, art, and music lessons merge. Think, blues concerts paired with found-object abstract art one night, radio theater (adapting early-twentieth-century scripts to live performances) the next.

A Different Water View

Delray Sands Resort has plenty of water to behold from your balcony, but getting on the water is never a bad option, particularly at sunset. End your arrival evening with a sunset cruise aboard Delray Yacht Cruises‘s 105-foot Lady Atlantic while a steel drum band sets the rhythm for what’s sure to be an amazing weekend.
