After Check-In: Jupiter, Florida

A 4 p.m. check-in at the Jupiter Beach Resort & Spa still leaves plenty of time for some fun in Jupiter, Florida. Indulge your inner child with turtle spotting or relax with a late-afternoon massage.

Sunset Cruise

With the setting sun and cool Atlantic breezes crossing the coast, a late-afternoon ride through the water is still up for grabs. Learn about Jupiter’s wealthiest homes, the history of the Jupiter Lighthouse, and what wildlife can be found in the water and flying through the air. Manatee Queen’s sunset cruises depart at 5 p.m. and lasts an hour and a half, leaving plenty of time to still grab dinner after you dock.

Tennis

A more active late-night pursuit can be found at Jupiter Beach Resort & Spa tennis courts, open late and lit for night play. Courts are available on a first-come, first-serve basis, but renting a racket right after check-in while everyone else is either relaxing or grabbing dinner can serve you well.

Turtle Walks

As the night sky darkens, area turtles come out. Just ask the staff at the Loggerhead Marine Center, just 10 minutes south on US 1. During the summer months, volunteers take small groups out to watch baby loggerheads crawl out from their sand nests and head for the water. Book before you arrive, as spots can sell out months in advance. Still, walk-ins are available should there be cancellations.

Spa Time

A long flight or too much time spent in the car can start a vacation in an uncomfortable position. The Spa at Jupiter Beach Resort stays open until 6 p.m. Sunday through Thursday (7 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays) for treatments like the Signature Perfect Massage. Now that feels like vacation.

Beach Time

The resort is situated along the largest stretch of secluded beach in Palm Beach County. With 1,000 feet of white sands, long late-night strolls are just out the back door of the resort.

Art After Dark

Thursday nights are special at the Norton Museum of Art, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. The weekly Art After Dark program presents a special collection from music and dance to film exhibits. There’s also special night conversations with curators to get an inside look at how new exhibits come to fruition.
