Boathouse Suite [Bar Harbor, ME]

Bar Harbor’s West Street might best known as the former home of some of the Gilded Age’s richest families, so it’s a fitting location for a suite fit for the. Situated in the heart of Down East Maine in an active marina and with Acadia National Park’s rolling mountains as a backdrop, the Harborside Hotel, Spa & Marina’s four Boathouse Suites are perched atop granite pilings that jut out into Frenchman Bay. Drink your morning coffee on the deck that hovers over the bay as you soak up the peace and calm of Maine’s serene coast.

The View

A panoramic ocean view of Frenchman Bay offers insight into why so many fall in love with Down East Maine. Boats of all shapes and sizes bob cheerfully on the moorings in the bay and luxury vessels float at the marina’s docks, while Maine’s rocky coast and evergreen forests forge a striking contrast to the deep blue of the bay.

Inside the Suite

Each of the four Boathouse Suites is a two-bedroom, two-bath home away from home. With subdued ocean and beach hues, the suites have the feel of a tastefully decorated modern ship’s berth, while shiplap walls, vintage oars, antique lamps, and miniature model ships add a nautical element. If the view of the water from the living room isn’t enough, step out on the deck so you can listen to the soothing sound of the water lapping at the pier below.

Opal Sands Resort [Clearwater Beach, FL]

At most hotels, the million-dollar views are reserved for the premium suites. But at Opal Sands Resort in Clearwater Beach, each and every room has a spectacular panoramic view of the pastel blue horizon line of the Gulf of Mexico, powdered sugar beaches, and Pier 61, where Clearwater’s famous nightly sunset celebration is hosted.
