From orchestras to film festivals, the Sarasota arts scene blends the classical with contemporary.


April 1 | Sarasota Orchestra

Bramwell Tovey, the Sarasota Orchestra Music Director Designate, takes the audience on an impressive musical journey through four talented composers: Richard Strauss, Felix Mendelssohn, Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, and Maurice Ravel. Since 1949, the Sarasota Orchestra has been a source of inspiration for music lovers and artists in the creative hub of Sarasota, Florida.

April 2 & 3 | Open Air Fine Arts

Explore art from all types of disciplines at the Sarasota Open Air Fine Arts Show at Phillippi Estate Park in south Sarasota. From 10am-5pm, guests will have the chance to get up close and personal with original works made by award-winning artists across the world.

March 19 & 26 (10am-6pm) and March 20 & 27 (11am-4pm) | 2022 Spring Indie Markets

Shop from over 70 local artists, small businesses, and artisans from all across the Sunshine State at the 2022 Spring Indie Markets at University Town Center. Visitors will have access to free parking and free entry allowing them to can shop, eat, and listen to live music at this years markets.

April 1-10 | The 24th Annual Sarasota Film Festival

This 10 day festival features over 200 films including features and shorts from independent and international talent. Festival events range from socially-driven parties and private receptions to community-wide street festivals and the black-tie Filmmakers Tribute Dinner.

May 4 | Boz Scaggs

Grammy Award winning singer-songwriter and guitarist, Boz Scaggs, takes the stage at the Van Wezel to perform his unique mix of rock, blues, and R&B. He’s spent his teenage years immersed in the world of music and continues to bring his passion for the arts to audiences all over.
