Since opening in 2007, this Clearwater homeless shelter has provided 15,000 individuals with a safe living environment, clothing, medical and mental health resources, and three much-needed daily meals. Your group can actively contribute by participating in the meal provider program, which involves preparing breakfasts, lunches, and/or dinners off-site, transporting, then serving to the more than 200 residents of the shelter. It’s a great way to foster a sense of community while making a meaningful impact on the lives of those in need.

Clean the World is a non-profit organization that recycles discarded hotel soaps and hygiene products and distributes them to children and families in need as part of a larger effort to prevent hygiene-related illnesses and deaths. Groups can help assist in their mission by taking part in their Soap Saves Lives program, which provides everything needed to assemble the hygiene kits they distribute. Once completed, groups have the option of returning the kits back to Clean the World or dropping them off at a local Clearwater charity, church, or homeless shelter.

With the help of Opal Sands Resort’s executive chef, teams work together to successfully produce masterpieces in a timed Iron Chef-style culinary competition. Once we reveal the “secret ingredient,” each team will be tasked with building a dish to present to a panel of our own VIP judges. It’s a dynamic experience that not only puts your teams culinary skills to the test but also fosters teamwork and creativity in a spirited and delicious setting.

Prepare yourself for the ultimate beachfront bonding experience in this round-robin style event set on our beautiful stretch of sand: Clearwater Beach. The resort will provide the boards, tournament game plan, and seaside snacks, however, it’s on your teams to bring the skill. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or a novice, this beachside event promises laughter, camaraderie, and unforgettable moments by the sea.

While your group could simply take a trip to the Clearwater Marine Aquarium – a beloved local non-profit and aquarium dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and release of sick and injured marine animals – an even better option is to book an off-site program for one-on-one education. While there are multiple options, a favorite is the organization’s sea turtle nest protection efforts, which are conducted up and down Pinellas County’s coastlines. You’ll learn about the loggerhead sea turtle life cycle, examine their anatomy, and have hands-on time with real turtle shells and skulls.

Prefer to see the local marine life in their natural habitat? The Clearwater Marine Aquarium also offers educational boat tours that pick up right at the marina of sibling Opal, Sandpearl Resort, to cruise the nearby waters. Your group has the choice of two options: the Sea-Life Safari Tour, a 90-minute tour that allows you to observe data collection in action and sea creatures up close, and the Dolphin & Wildlife Tour, a 60-minute tour that teaches about the local dolphin population and putters around a bird sanctuary island.

An aqua aerobics session conducted in our resort pool makes for a fun blend of fitness and team camaraderie. Led by an instructor, your corporate group will embark on a dynamic water aerobics class, custom-tailored to suit different fitness levels. Whether your team seeks an energetic workout or a more laid-back session, it’s an experience that will leave lasting memories.

Test your skill – and get a good workout in – during a beach volleyball tournament set up by the resort.
