Set on a private 70-acre island on the western shore of lower Lake George in the town of Bolton Landing, The Sagamore Resort is a sprawling Victorian-era escape that has been welcoming visitors for more than 140 years.

The only hotel set directly on the tranquil waters of Lake Placid and just a five-minute drive from the downtown Olympic village, Lake Placid Lodge is a Great Camp-inspired retreat offering a secluded escape unlike any other.

The Conference Center features the 10,800-square-foot Sagamore Ballroom, divisible into three sections, plus three 920-square-foot meeting rooms, office space, and storage. With a lawn and terrace adjacent to the building, it’s perfect for hosting multiple meetings at once.

The 11,664-square-foot Event Center, the largest of its kind in the Adirondack Park Region, is a fully-functional exhibit hall able to host up to 100 10×10 exhibit booths, auto shows, and heavy equipment, with easy access for set-ups and break-downs.
The Sagamore’s Historic Hotel features five meeting rooms, including the 2,520-square-foot Dollar Island Room, the 720-square-foot Diamond Island Room, and two executive boardrooms.
The Shelving Rock Terrace is a tented, climate-controlled venue with panoramic Lake George views and a lakeside lawn. Perfect for banquets, cocktails, and weddings, it offers indoor comfort in an outdoor setting and seats up to 220 guests.

An intimate dining room with its own private terrace, the Baby Bootlegger room is an intimate space perfect for a board meeting or small group dinner. Discuss big ideas under the light of its one-of-a-kind rowboat chandelier.

Private and special, the Wine Cellar is where intimate conversations are bound to happen. Dine and discuss the day’s work surrounded by the lodge’s collection of fine and rare vintage wines.

Gather your group on the lodge’s dock, which is situated on top of the pristine waters of Lake Placid. With a bonfire roaring nearby and space for a barbecue or other casual meal, this setting is ideal for a welcome reception.

Ideal for an intimate indoor winter ceremony, the Moose Room offers an elegant, quiet intimacy complete with a wood-burning fireplace.

This wood-lined patio, anchored by a massive stone fireplace and able to be heated to a cozy 70 degrees, is ideal for winter weddings, but can also be used as a backup ceremony site in the event of inclement weather during the summer.

Located just outside the Adirondack Room, this tented space is flanked by two huge stone fireplaces, complete with unobstructed views of Lake Placid and Whiteface Mountain.

Set on the bottom floor on the lodge, this partially covered, slate-stone terrace invites expansive views of the lawn, lake, and Whiteface Mountain in the distance.

No, base room rates reflected at both resorts do not include breakfast.
For The Sagamore Resort, Albany International Airport (ALB) airport is an hour drive away, while the private Floyd Bennett Memorial Airport (GFL) is about 30-minute drive away. Both are just a quick, scenic, and traffic free drive directly on Route 87 North directly to the resort.
For Lake Placid Lodge, Plattsburg International Airport (PBG) is an hour drive, Adirondack Regional Airport (SLK) is a 30-minute drive, and the private Lake Placid Airport (LKP) (available to groups with access to private or corporate aircrafts) is just 10 minutes.
Rental cars, Lyft, and Uber are available from the airport or Amtrak train stations to both resort locations.
This is not a service our resorts provide; however, we are happy to share local companies we use upon request.
Space rental fees may be dictated by space requested versus number of room nights contracted, locations requested, and food and beverage minimums.
There is no charge for parking (self or valet) or wireless access in the guest rooms, meeting spaces, or public areas. These features are included in both of the resorts’ daily resort fees.
For The Sagamore Resort, it includes self or valet parking, entry in the fitness center and pool(s); wireless access in all guest rooms, meeting space, and public areas; bottled water and coffee maker in all accommodations; island shuttle and daily activities, including The Morgan sightseeing cruises in season.
For Lake Placid Lodge Lodge, it includes self or valet parking; wireless access in all guest rooms, meeting space, and public areas; mini refrigerators stocked with juices, waters, sodas, splits of wine, champagne, snacks and a split of a seasonal liquor selected by resort; coffee maker in each room; and daily activities, including sightseeing cruises on our 16-passenger Hacker Craft, Christie, in season.
For The Sagamore Resort, many of our room options are able to handle triple and quad occupancy, so we can accommodate up to 1,000 guests.
Lake Placid Lodge, with 30 accommodations, is able to handle up to 75 guests on site and is available for full buyouts.
Yes, both resorts offer a full list of private babysitters or can organize a group event.
No, our resorts do not. Our kitchens are shared by our leisure and group guests.
We have many unique outdoor and indoor options, several with lake and mountain views, including our cruise boat, The Morgan (at The Sagamore Resort) or the waterfront dock (at Lake Placid Lodge). From a casual backyard barbeque to a formal event, we have options for everything.
Late June through Labor Day is the high season of summer, spring season falls April through June, Autumn runs September through November, and our winter value season runs December through March.
For The Sagamore Resort, the town of Bolton Landing is a 10-minute walk, but we also have a shuttle that will drop off and pickup individuals at a designated location.
For Lake Placid Lodge, the village of Lake Placid is a five-minute drive and we also offer shuttle service to drop off and pickup at a designated location.
For The Sagamore Resort, Bolton Landing offers a walkable “main street” spanning a section of Lake Shore Drive that is packed with charming boutiques housed in cottages and Adirondack-inspired buildings.
For Lake Placid Lodge, the Olympic village of Lake Placid is lined with charming, well-preserved buildings that reflect the village’s history and architectural heritage, while also serving up a nice mix of name-brand outlets and uniquely Lake Placid boutiques and shops.
