Wentworth by the Sea is located on the island of New Castle, New Hampshire and connected by bridge to the nearby city of Portsmouth. This historic resort was b built in 1874 and has four stories overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. In addition to the main hotel, townhouse-style rooms are available just a few steps away at the Marina Suites, a separate building located directly on Little Harbor.

Wentworth by the Sea offers traditional and suite-style rooms in its main hotel. Select rooms feature ocean views.

The main hotel’s top floor is comprised of the Turret Suites, which have two levels and a separate bedroom.

The Marina Suites are townhouse-style rooms located directly on Little Harbor Marina. There are one- and two-bedroom configurations, and all townhouses feature a full kitchen.

The Marina Suites are located directly on Little Harbor Marina, about a three-minute walk from the main hotel.

The closest airport to the hotel is Portsmouth International Airport at Pease (PSM), located 7 miles from the hotel, and Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (MHT), about 50 miles away.

Wentworth by the Sea is located on the nearby island of New Castle, less than ten minutes from downtown Portsmouth. The hotel offers a shuttle service to the downtown area until 10:30pm nightly.

Self-parking is included in the resort fee and valet parking is available for an additional charge per day.

We encourage guests to call our spa and make a reservation at least 4 to 6 weeks in advance.

Yes, there is an additional charge per night after the second guest aged 13 or older. Fees may vary based on room type.

Our reservations department would be happy to assist you with your room reservation. Guests can also access their reservation online.

For restaurant reservations, please give the front desk or restaurant a call.

Check in starts at 4pm and check out time is at 11am.

Wentworth by the Sea does not offer rollaways, but pack and plays are available upon request.

Wentworth by the Sea welcomes well-mannered dogs weighing 30lbs or less in the main hotel ground level rooms. Guests bringing dogs will be charged an additional fee per night, per dog (maximum of two dogs per room). Click here to read our full pet policy.

Please contact the front desk or reservations department at least 24 hours prior to arrival to send an amenity to a guest’s room or pay for all or part of their stay. Our staff will be happy to send you a Sertifi link so that you can submit your payment information securely and electronically.
